NYPD officers murdered by crazed assassin in revenge for police killings across the USA

Two NYPD officers were shot dead by Ismaaiyl Brinsley allegedly in retaliation for Eric Garner. 

The two officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were sitting in their cruiser in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY when they were assassinated, shot multiple times in the head.  Both officers were pronounced dead at the hospital. The officers were armed but they were unable to return fire and perhaps never saw the assassin coming.

The gunman had posted numerous messages on instagram in the preceding weeks threatening police officers and expressing hatred of cops.  It is believed he was motivated by the numerous police killing of unarmed citizens over the past few months.

 

After executing both officers he fled to a subway station while being pursued by police.  He made one final instagram post showing blood on his pants before shooting himself in the head while police were closing in. You can view some of his instagram postings below(click picture to see it larger).
